Cuvee Z by Les Vignerons d'Estezargues — Natural Rhone Red via Emile Wines
Cuvee Z is a bright, juicy natural red wine from Les Vignerons d'Estezargues — a tiny cooperative near Avignon that's been making proper natural wine since the 1980s. Grenache-dominant with a splash of Syrah, it's raspberry-fruited, savoury and ridiculously easy to drink. The kind of bottle that disappears before you've decided what to have for dinner.
A natural wine that actually tastes like fun
Forget everything you think you know about co-op wines. Les Vignerons d'Estezargues is a 10-member cooperative doing things differently — no commercial yeast, no fining, no filtration, minimal sulphites. The result is a Cotes du Rhone with genuine character: ruby red, packed with raspberry and liquorice, and a savoury edge that keeps you coming back. Serve it slightly chilled and it gets even better.
Grenache from the Southern Rhone, done right
This Grenache-dominant blend comes from organic vineyards on the sun-drenched plateau near Avignon, where the Mistral wind keeps things healthy and the clay-limestone soils add depth. It's the kind of easy-drinking natural red wine that works at any time of the week — enough going on to keep things interesting, but light enough to pour without overthinking it.
A label that earns its spot on your shelf
Cuvee Z looks as good as it drinks. The label has that understated French cool — simple, clean, the sort of thing you'd happily leave out on the kitchen counter. And at this price point, it's genuinely brilliant value for a proper natural wine from one of the Rhone's most respected cooperatives.

What is Les Vignerons d'Estezargues?
Les Vignerons d'Estezargues is a small wine cooperative near Avignon in the Southern Rhone, established in 1965. With just 10 member growers farming around 400 hectares, it shifted to natural winemaking in the 1980s under winemaker Jean-Francois Nicq. Today, nearly all the vineyards are certified organic, and the wines are made without commercial yeast, fining or filtration — one of the very few cooperatives in France to work this way.
Is Cuvee Z a natural wine?
Yes. Cuvee Z is made with indigenous yeasts, no fining, no filtration, and only a minimal amount of sulphites added at bottling if needed. The grapes come from organically farmed vineyards. It's proper natural wine — not marketing spin.
