New Theory Wines
New Theory — South African Natural Wine With Serious Fun
New Theory is a natural wine brand built by brothers Charlie and Thom Bradley with one clear aim: to make low-intervention wine that is easy to buy, easy to drink, and impossible to be pretentious about. Working directly with winemakers and farmers in South Africa's Stellenbosch and Swartland regions, New Theory produces a range of unfiltered, minimal-intervention wines that are as fun to look at as they are to drink. Formerly known as Nouveau, they rebranded in 2024 to better reflect what they are about — a new way of thinking about wine. All Natty stocks New Theory in Bristol because their energy and quality are exactly what we are here for.
Wine Without the Waffle
New Theory was founded in 2021 with a deliberate mission to strip away everything that makes wine feel exclusive. No tasting notes that read like poetry. No price tags that require a second mortgage. No guilt about not knowing the difference between terroir and territory. Instead, the Bradleys focused on creating juicy, drinkable, smashable wines that happen to be made with proper care and real ingredients.
The wines are entirely produced in South Africa — sourced from sustainably farmed vineyards in the Western Cape — and brought to the UK for distribution. Every bottle is low-intervention: minimal pesticides in the vineyard, no synthetic additives in the cellar, and the natural character of the grapes left intact. The result is wine that tastes vibrant and alive, with none of the heaviness or uniformity of mass-produced alternatives.
The Range
New Theory keeps things tight — four distinct wines, each with its own personality and a name that tells you what to expect. White Lies is a crisp Pinot Gris for anyone who wants something fresh and easy. Love Bite is a fruity, beaujolais-style Cinsault that drinks best slightly chilled — bright red fruits, soft tannins, and dangerously moreish. Growing Pains takes the same Cinsault grape but gives it ten months in barrel for a fuller, more complex expression with deeper fruit and a longer finish. And Pot Luck is a Pinotage pét-nat — naturally sparkling, delicately fizzy, and refreshingly different from anything else you are likely to have in your fridge.
Each bottle features playful illustrations by artist James Graham — characterful noses, dancing dice, wind-up teeth — giving every wine its own visual identity. These are bottles designed to be noticed, shared, and enjoyed without ceremony.
The Culture
New Theory is not just a wine brand. It is a cultural project. The Bradleys host wine raves across London — events in warehouses, studios, and roasteries where DJs spin records, dance floors get sticky, and wine flows freely. It is the polar opposite of a stuffy tasting event, and it has built a community of people who love wine but want nothing to do with wine snobbery. The events keep selling out, getting bigger, and attracting a crowd that most wine brands cannot reach.
Thom Bradley's background in graphic design and art direction means the brand's visual identity draws more from streetwear and music culture than from traditional wine marketing. That is intentional. New Theory's audience is not the wine establishment — it is everyone else.
Who New Theory Is For
If you have ever been put off by wine culture, New Theory exists for you. If you drink natural wine regularly and want something reliably good at a fair price, New Theory delivers. And if you are looking for a bottle to bring to a dinner party that will get people talking, the branding alone does half the work — and the wine does the rest.
New Theory pairs naturally with food that does not take itself too seriously either. Love Bite with pizza. Pot Luck with seafood. Growing Pains with a slow-cooked stew. Or grab a bottle alongside our snacks — Cinsault and crisps is an underrated combination. Browse our full wine range to build a mixed case with New Theory at the heart of it.
